I’m black and born and raised in Alabama. Been pulled over by the cops, seen them in restaurants, and went to a predominately white school and I can tell you, Alabama is NOT what people make it seem. I have had absolutely zero problems with racism here in my 20 full years living here. Now are there racists ? Ofc there are but they’re everywhere. I guarantee I would have a bigger problem with racism in Boston, LA,New York, etc. than down here in the south. It’s all about food, sweet tea, and football down here.
