For Gary to try and downplay that a caloric surplus is the primary cause of obesity is preposterous. Carbs are the body's primary energy source, carbs create an insulin response. Glucose contributes, but if Sandy is 396 pounds eating 5,500 calories a day, if she reduces her intake to 2,500 a day, she'll lose weight whether or not she eliminates any of her carb sources.
For Stephen to downplay that a caloric surplus is the primary cause of obesity is preposterous. The brain plays a role, obviously, but Stephen's own cited research showed again and again that caloric surplus resulted in obesity, even directly through percentages of increase.
Ask a kid why another kid is fat. He or she will mime the fat kid jamming an ice cream cone into their face hole repeatedly. We know why fats are fats.
Stephan kind of reminds me of Ben Shapiro on Ritalin.
