I can take Adderall and go to sleep. Adderall makes it where I can actually read without my mind wondering. I agree they do over prescribe it.

Basal arousal theory. People with ADHD have chronically low levels of dopamine in the brain. This makes the individual unmotivated to complete tasks. You know the good feeling you get when you finish the laundry, get the dishes done, finish a book, etc? People with ADHD dont get that. Adding adderall increases dopamine levels in the brain allowing people with ADHD to get the same rewarding feeling as most folk.
