This clip reminds me of a story. I use to be a security guard at a massive vitamin factory in Nuevo, CA and one time during one of my rounds through the offices I found a baby possum on the ground. I look up to the ceiling and I saw that there was a big possum nest up in the ceiling tiles. So I get a chair and find about 6 baby possum up there. I call my supervisor and I’m like what do you want me to do…. he helps me clean everything up, we put the baby possums in a bucket at he tells me to drive to the main road and dump them. Keep in mind it was freezing cold outside and death would of been slow and painful for the newborn possums. I told him that I thought that was cruel and that we would essentially be torturing them and that it was not right. I asked him if I could just kill them and he looked at me with a look of shock and horror. I felt bad and I felt like he was judging me like I was a monster. But I explained to him that what he suggested was really the evil thing to do and though I never told him to his face it was the COWARDLY thing to do. He disagreed with me and I ended up just dumping them on the side of the road. The thing that amazed me the most is that he actually believed he did the right thing. When in fact he was a coward and did not have the courage to do the right thing and just kill them. Odd how killing them was the right thing to do, but he couldn’t get over the fact that we would have to take their life.
