People should just get over slavery already. We should move past that if we ever want to get over it.
Echos of WWII Germany exists all over the world and no one is upset about it because we recognize the Germans alive today are not the same people as the Nazis.
My own hometown was occupied by the Nazis and they destroyed some of our heritage, enforced fascistic rule, confiscated cameras, medicine, boats, houses, furniture(etc) and forbid more than 3 people meeting at once and every citizen had to wear identity cards and forced labour camps were implemented. Some people were also deported to Germany and Idgaf. I'm not angry, I don't want compensation, reparations, or an apology. And that's in living memory. The Nazis lost and are long dead. Who am I meant to receive compensation and an apology from? Young Heinrich, a bricklayer with 2 children trying to make ends meet in the heart of Germany? No, it doesn't make sense to me at all.
