Shermer is not very good at much (*live). He really is just a near literal (*& literal i guess) 'professional skeptic' of the shallowest kind. It banks on people having very little grounding in science, but just enough to know some undergrad terms, to be impressed by him. Altho gr8 guy.
& that particular whole 'skeptic type' is disingenuous as to when types of evidence do or dont count & when; or do or dont disprove something; or when a lack of evidence is a problem and when "well, we just do this anyway". But im a little forgiving when youre the editor of skeptic mag. Putting up against religious folk, or other's where there is no real grounding for debate. Or flat earters (or is that religion too). Trans? Oh wateva.
Ego's and scientific truths don't mix.
Michael Shermer is a classic example of someone who thinks he's smart enough to contend with someone who has studies a subject all his life and his smartness will guide him to victory.
