About the Neil Degrasse Tyson tweet. From what I saw, people weren’t angry about the timing or emotion. It was that it came across as a “whataboutism.” Which is the arguments scientists should never use. He compared gun violence with other deaths that the government and science is trying to help and stop, but when it comes to mass shootings the best the government can do is say “thoughts and prayers.”
