Penn saying that you can just learn things online for free – again with the libertarianism, it only works in a world that you find to be ideal. In most western or western-influenced capitalist countries, simply saying on your resume that you learned your trade from books and the internet doesn’t hold the same water as a degree. That’s probably a flaw in the system we all live by and one that has to change before this whole fading away of traditional college that fits into the libertarian ideal. The problem of student loans exists now, in a system that exists now. People need help, Penn.

Took me 12 years to pay off my college loans, but I did. Went through college eating day old bread and fake cheese food sandwiches, and bags and bags of potatoes. Kids today need to major in things that lead to careers where they will be able to repay their college debts. We should not be making student loans to people majoring in stupid stuff like art history. Can't pay your student loans? Maybe you should do a 10 year stint in the military. I am sick of freeloaders!
When people discuss college education they seem to always be talking about social sciences / liberal arts education. Try learning physics or biochem lab online. Also missing from the equation is college allowing people (or forcing them) to "produce" and synthesize knowledge and content. This isn't an argument for college but these shouldn't be overlooked.
Penn is due for another visit!
