  1. Did I miss the part where they asked WHY there aren't any right leaning comics? They wouldn't get on TV, Netflix or anything. The Left don't like free-speech or free-thinkers.

  2. I thought of all kinds of political comedy and this isn't the way to go now. It ends with Bill Maher and John Oliver. The next wave is going to be different. There is going to be people trying to fill that gap, but George Carlin is gone, Bill Maher is filling in and well JRE has the torch it seems.

If I were in comedy, I'd stay away from controversy just because it isn't funny. You can make it funny, but it leaves a stench in the room. You want to pound an audience with laughter one after the next like Greg Fitsimmons. Greg blew me away once. I must be smart because I was getting some of his jokes than nobody understood.

We were at Governor's in Levittown, NY. Greg opens with "Ahhh Levittown, what do we have around here? A lot of AA meetings.". I fell off my chair laughing and nobody else laughed. I knew that Levittown was where all the Vets went after the war on the GI Bill. It just so happens there was rampant alcoholism after WWII in Levittown. So they started AA meetings.

My father was one of the guys starting new meetings for the drug addicts and alcoholics after the Vietnam War. Levittown was like Epcot Center for alcoholics. The meetings were all in Levittown. I knew the background and nobody else knew. I wasn't expecting a comic to know that. Greg Fitsimmons caught me off guard with that joke. That was so long ago and I remember the way he made me laugh to this minute. He pounded me with jokes after that about kids and family and all nutty, fun stuff. My stomach hurt. That's the best comedy I see. For the now, a regular guy with Converse All Stars and a Peaky Blinders Irish Tweed hat on is just what the doctor ordered.
