Texas, wild pigs for food.
What episode is this
More than likely Joe has an Atlas Bunker. Living in Texas, an Atlas Bunker is doable.
Imagine people who have never lived in the woods, trying to live in the woods. Unless you spent your life there, you won't survive. This stuff has to be learned over a lifetime. Passed down generation to generation.
Lets be honest, if shit really did hit the fan, long term…Almost everyone would be dead in 3-6 months. Very very few people have enough resources to last longer than a couple weeks. And since most people are just savages the second anything goes wrong (dont argue we SAW how covid went) it means the survivors would be fighting and killing each other for whats left in stores.
The best survivors would be people who own stocked and fortified bunkers because they have security details. But even those would still die without food and water resupplies. If their security didnt just kill them first to take it over.
Privately owned Lone bunkers near rivers or freshwater natural sources depending on location might fare well if the people are well supplied and there is plentiful game and homemade farming.
But again other people could kill you and steal your stuff.
Not only that but you cant just wing it and survive very long without solid technical know- how everything from hunting, fishing, bushcrafting, firemaking, farming, health and medicine, climate and clean water, etcc..That stuff isnt easy and not something you can just do on the fly unless you are just very very talented and quick to pick up any skill.
So while some people can survive, most would die.
