You stay close to the cost line. A lot of fish. Even without a source of water you can still drink sea water. Is great.

We don't need to speculate in tropical Oz – between a cyclone in 2018 and the pandemic in 2020, it became obvious how quickly things turn to shit. Supermarket shelves stripped bare, electricity out and people being arrested for refusing to comply with the authorities' mandates. Elaborate attempts to get across the border – in some cases successful initially – that saw people hit with heavy fines and in some cases jail sentences. We don't have your gun culture, but we do have people literally willing to kill for a bottle of Jack Daniels plus a youth crime wave that shows no sign of slowing. The panic factor in a city the size of LA or NYC would force people to shield in place, relying on whatever cans of food they have on hand. Fishermen with a seaworthy boat probably have the best chance of survival here, but the word 'apocalypse' doesn't conjure image of healthy fish and calm seas 😉
