  1. This guy. Fucking hell. I've never seen anyone drop as much pure knowledge on us. You can tell how interesting and insightful someone is by how little Joe speaks or interrupts. Joe's just sat there absorbing lol

  2. If Rogan happens to read this comment…look up bi-phasic sleep patterns and especially in relation to how much cardiac problems increase in places where they move from biphasic to monophasic sleeping patterns (some studies on mediterranean countries).

As well as helping us to take a shit, vegetables promote enzyme production in the body, which are better than anti-oxidants. Look into NFE2L2 genetic pathway. A necessary evil? Maybe not.

Nutrition is simple…don't eat shit (greasy/fast foods and sugar/additive laden foods), but otherwise just eat what you like and try to get a wide variety of foods. Fad diets don't work, and being overly strict with any kind of diet doesn't really work unless it's for a limited time to address a health issue. Meat will always be the best source of complete protein, but lacks in essential minerals, which some research suggests can be provided from nuts and herbs/spices.

Weston Price did some very interesting research on diets. His and other research seems to indicate that basically it comes down to what your ancestors ate. Some of our ancestors ate meat and cheese, some of our ancestors were more agricultural. What I find of concern is that there seems to be some heavy political sponsorship behind promoting certain foods and diets as healthy.

As a personal example on nutrition, while I wouldn't recommend to anyone to do fad diets or strict diets as a whimsical thing, due to severe injury I did do keto for a while and for me this was very beneficial, but this was to repair and not to build…I had a shoulder injury from a motorcycle wreck, had paralysed my arm, severed 2 of the three major nerves just below my shoulder and severely damaged the third, also crushed the brachial plexus and stretch damage from the brachial plexus to spine….also a fractured dislocation of the shoulder and massive tearing of muscles, tendons and ligaments (which was all minor compared to the nerve injuries in terms of recovery time). Keto worked in the situation because it was great for reducing inflammation and increasing cell scavenging for injury recovery. I also implemented NFE2L2 research into my dietary choices to help cellular repair/reduce "pollution" in my cells. I had been told I needed amputation and would never move my fingers, let alone arm, again. 10 months later I rode my motorcycle to my hospital appointment. Having cut all the crap out of my diet (saying no to the weekly donuts at work, giving up alcohol, no more chocolate unless it's 90% dark), I now find that my gut guides me to eat foods to cover my deficiencies..sometimes I crave specific vegetables, or a specific type of nut, etc.
