Be the hammer not the nail. I play outside backer and runningback in hs and never had a concussion bc i was taught how to hit correctly amd hard. If u let urself get hit u will get hurt
What about Rugby, back to the roots
Australian football has no helmets, there's tackles, body checking and concussions are common.
There are ways to help don’t let anyone play until hs. My rule if I have a son that goes for any contact sport even heading in soccer (which btw there are blows to the head in girls soccer than football). In addition limit tackling above the hip go back to leather helmet or remove the face mask keep the rules where they are. Limit contact to guys in the air and one thing they have done is encourage running backs to me more elusive verse run over ppl so that in turn makes line backer safer. And offensive and defensive line was the most dangerous position getting rid of face masks would fix that. And teach how they tackle in rugby because it’s more efficient. I can also see rugby becoming more popular as well as lacrosse and try to limit blind side contact because on those blocks players don’t know what’s coming and can be have Brian damage occur. There is a league called the a7fl which doesn’t play with pads looks a lot safer
