I miss pit fights too. I was part of a stockcar racing team for 10 years. I suggested setting up a boxing ring at the track and if you had a beef with another driver you could call him out. Then charge admission to watch the fights. I got called a "lot" of bad names for suggesting it.
Daytona was only "half" on the beach, and half asphalt. One of the early deaths in auto racing was one of the Chevrolet brothers, in a green car on a wooden track. For years green race cars were considered bad luck.
