  1. "Erbs" is nothing to do with the French. It is an East Anglian dialect that drops the aitch Londoners. The colonists in the main part were from Anglia , Hampshire, Kent, Essex , Sussex and
    the West Country. Our pronunciation in RP English uses a hard aitch so "erbs" is "herbs" there are thousands of words and descriptions in American English that were English English it is just that we left them behind the latest I suppose is imperial avoir du poi weights and measures because the UK uses the metric system and by the way "The Fall " is what we English called autumn before the Regency 1810 ish 🇬🇧
