So many MMA fans would hit pads WAY worse than that if they could muster the energy to do it at all. They played this video on First Take and he took Max’s jokes like a man. Also, that video is on the trainer, not him. Everyone would punch like that if they all had garbage trainers AND he didn’t choose to cover MMA. ESPN pays him 10M so they work his ass to the bone.
If Joe cares so much why didn’t he pull him aside and give him this exact speech nicely to help teach him? You don’t know what you don’t know – and again he didn’t go to those events by choice. I agree he shouldn’t be discussing fights but most MMA reporters and fans shouldn’t be either and he can’t just say no to ESPN.
Also Stephen A isn’t Skip Bayless, he rarely “talks shit” like for fun or something. He almost always just gives opinions, disagree or not.
And very lastly lol, I don’t think what he said was FULLY bad. I had Conor as a heavy favorite outside of maybe being caught, especially on the ground. So as great as he looked, I didn’t learn that much either and I’ve been watching combat sports longer than Stephen A has been on TV.

I understand that they have to defend cowboy, but truth be told, he was dismal in the fight and is a known choker. He really sucks and they ought to force him to retire.
