When they stopped doing this procedure it caused the democrat party to become what it is today. Crazy.
The lobotomy is not a cure for any of the mental illnesses people had during the time it was used and would often leave people a shell of their former selves. Not cognizant enough to respond to anyone, but just conscious and 'alive' enough to know that they're somewhere suffering. My great great aunt went through with it and it scarred my grandmother for life, changing her perception of the world and the people in it. It never shocks me to know of humanity's cruelty, and I hope the horrifying practices never come to fruition again.
