This guy says that vimanas are not made of the same elements from this earth, but the actual descriptions in ancient vedic texts of how to build vimanas sort of implies that they are very parctical pieces of technology that are indeed made up of earthly stuff. There are certain vimanas that are made up of subtle energies and essentially are described as being extra dimensional in nature, but there are also descriptions of basic material vimanas as well.
@joerogan I have a ganesha story for you. He came to me three times in one day before he meant anything to me. In fact I was a momentarily turned off by my yoga teacher mentioning him twice during yoga teacher training. First I found his name going through my head over and over. When I realized it, I said what is ganesh? Is that the elephant headed god? I then quinto to do my laundry, went into the metaphysical shop next door and saw a ganesha statue and thought yeah, that's him. I'll look him up later to see if the universe is trying to talk to me. I later went to the park and on the curb next to my parking space was a small good colored plastic ganesha with dirt caked on it in the curb!
