I listened to the Gladwell interview referred to at the end (Revisionist History podcast) – he doesn't say stand up is easy and that he would knock out out of the park first go! The question is about professions that understand people – comedian is one suggestion, teacher is another. He rounds out by saying he'd way prefer doing stand up (he doesn't say how well he'd do) rather than standing in front of a bunch of 6th graders and their parents.
