I'm a fiction writer, and while I don't think we are nearly as creative as musicians or visual artists if I'm being honest, the feeling of ideas just coming to you is FUCKING REAL. Most of whatever you are doing is hard work. It's you just grinding it out, and fine tuning it, and putting in the time. But the critical pieces, the ideas that you build your entire piece or book around, they just come to you. They hit you like a fucking punch to the chest. And then you have to get it out. You have to give it the stage it deserves. Its creepy. It doesn't always feel good either. Sometime those ideas don't fit your own world. But if you are devoted to creative work you can't help it, you have to let it out. The only book I haven't published (I am not remotely successful lol) is one based around a character idea that hit me a fucking decade ago. I can never give it the right stage, Ive been rewriting and fine tuning it for 10 years and it still doesn't feel right. But i can't stop. That idea sits on my chest with more weight than almost anything else in my life and it fucking sucks. My heart goes out to every successful creative artist out there because damn if it isn't hard as fuck to do those ideas justice.
