  1. First nations don't get to do whatever they want. And Joe? When a Native tells you that the books that you have cited (The SC one in particular) is problematic – don't tell them how some white dude writing his views on our culture and history is correct. Furthermore, don't speak over a matriarch that has been gracious enough to take the time to speak with you. Idc how many followers you have. We owe you nothing, and WE already know our shit – this is a service for you and non-Natives who do not know and IS beneficial for you to know.

  2. 2 hours and 36 minutes of painful guarded discussion. The ball was entirely in her court the entire time, and she was still unable to sell any point. She even made me question points that she supported, and I have believed in all of my life. I really hope she's not a trial lawyer. If you're her defendant good luck. If she's this incapable of selling a topic this close to her heart, then you're just screwed.

Joe should've picked a more persuasive guest from the Native American community. Someone to recast the discussion into today's world. Remind us that this isn't, a, settled discussion.

I think that most Americans are sympathetic to the Native American cause. They might not research their cause, but given the facts and talking points from a charismatic person, they would speak up in defense of a downtrodden people. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in America that is down on Native Americans, and even if they were, they'd be socially ostracized.

Just let somebody sympathize with you without the accusations of involvement for something you are generations seperated from. Making a person feel guilt for something that their grandparents weren't even alive for. It makes your potential defenders block it from their mind. It doesn't build an ally, much less an activist in your corner.
