Airplanes have had autopilots since 1914 yet no one has ever thought both pilots should just doze off during flight. We have transitioned too fast to drivers just sleeping when on autopilot in a car.
so let me get this straight lex…. your gunna code a car to assert its position over the pedestrian getting the right away…
this law is rather nuanced and is in place to allow the path of travel on the sidewalk to deviate if necessary. such as person dodging a asswhole on a bike or maybe even after a collision on the sidewalk. you should prob tech the car to pump the brakes.
Where and how does Tesla even store all of this autonomous driving data ???
I'll never allow automation to drive my car. Too many sudden surprises on the road from animals to falling rocks and trees. And on busy highways everybody cuts you off, everyone searching for the quicker lane, while others pull stupid maneuvers, even life threatening, in muscle cars and sport bikes. Lastly, you'll never find one at Indy or Daytona 500. Only when every car on the road is automated can this entire endeavor succeed.
Camera's provide peripheral vision.
