  1. What’s the actual point in creating artificial life? Cuz this sounds lame.
    No emotion.
    No desire.
    It’s just a walking computer.

So what? How does this benefit humanity to be replaced by a fridge that can think? It doesn’t make sense.

  2. I have a hybrid view… I think we will be able to incorporate our genetics in with machine, and enhance our capabilities and productivity, and better manage our neuro-chemistry… but keep the struggle, the success, and the pain and the pleasure, the sadness and the happiness. Heck, we may even advance technology to the point where it is, for all intents and purposes, organic… being able to self regulate, heal, produce energy, and all the normal functions via converting nutrients into usable energy and building blocks… or some other iteration… but something that can be integrated with our natural DNA… and maybe a new type of person can be born. And I see that all being a form of evolution… and technically all produced out of nature. Because we are a part of nature, our minds are a part of nature, our ability to build technology is a part of nature… so technology is nature. Just the next stage in our evolution… not becoming obsolete.
