People are forgetting one thing; the economy. A ubi benefits economic growth, and that growth is crucial to the fruits of society we all enjoy. A ubi compliments capitalism. It'll happen eventually, sooner the better

Really respect Joe for his take on this. Honestly the rhetoric against the poor in the west is beyond toxic. Poverty isn't a character flaw in and of itself but it really does create them. The idea of pulling yourself up by the bootstrap is such a laughable concept, to just assume that all poor people choose to be that way and can willingly change at any point at their own choosing and that doing so isn't practically unachievable is so beyond the scope of logic and reality that anyone who seriously makes the claim should be laughed out of the room.
Intergenerational poverty is a pandemic and it's a shame we have done the bare minimum in order to actually address and prevent the issue from reoccurring.
