If your wife “let go of herself” and gained weight you mean you wouldn’t be willing to go to her level and help her lose the weight and- go through the journey of life with her through ups and downs?
I believe it’s an extreme thing to say “I’ll leave you if you get fat” because having a partner that deals with any addiction in a marriage, your job as a wife or a husband is to do everything you can possibly do to help them. Vice versa to her thinking towards him.
It’s like a man going through A midlife crisis and decides to leave his older wife for a younger woman because She’s not who she was when he married her 20,30,40 years ago. I just don’t think it justifies a healthy marriage. When you’re already searching for reasons to leave your partner you will find what you’re looking for eventually…… good luck 👍🏼🍀
