I remember one of the early UFC's I think maybe pride, but honestly I think early UFC. Guy got kneed in the collar bone and his shoulder was proper fucked.
On a personal level, a grand master that I know in tkd Dong Keun Park took on a challenge at his Jersey City school. Park has the best record in tkd history (over 200 fights without a loss), used to train special forces in Vietnam and trained the 92 US Olympic team. FYI Park can chop 4" thick solid concrete any day, I've seen him and plenty of his protege's do it without any to do's, no demo, not in ground or other bs. So this dude came at him and park just slipped and chopped his collar bone, dude shoulder was just hanging.. Definitely broke both sides. Anyway the funniest part about the whole story is he went on to lecture the guy for a half an hour about respect and challenging people before he was willing let him go or call a ambulance for him .
Papa is such an interesting person..
I actually might have to buy his book.
