  1. The thing that scares me about this is the fact that if you were to upload your consciousness to a computer, would that be a copy or a full transfer? like if they were to put you to sleep, and when you wake up you are now in the computer and you still feel like the same person, and… the consiousnes of your body doesn't die… Or in other words, would they be transfering your consciousness only like data, or like your soul?, and how would they know?, what if when they transfer the consciousness, you as a sould die, but the data makes it look in the computer like it's still you, but in reality it's only a clone? or again, what if it is only a clone/copy, and your consciousness is still in your body, and going back with the previous example where they put you to sleep but this time you wake up again in your body.

This whole subject is too weird, i don't even know if all of that would be possible.

  2. why would we want to be connect ourselves to a robot? If we have the possibility to experience other realities and step into a new kind of consciousness, why then would we want to put our consciousness into a robot. A robot still needs maintenance just as our physical bodies. Even if it lasted for a long time…. Would it not limit our experience possibility? There are centuries of text and innumerable people who have had experiences not attached to our limited understanding of what life is. Would being trapped in a robot be more like a prison? Is the fear of death so powerful that humans would prefer to live in a prison forever? Death is feared… Naturally, the drive to survive is there for a purpose. So the species can survive and strives to establish another generation before their bodies transpire. If we did not have this, when life got difficult they would just lay down and die. In fact, suicide, ever increasing in our modern world is the perceived escape for individual when life gets too tough to handle, cope or deal with. However, throughout history there has been individuals who experienced altered consciousness or near death experiences that document that it is in fact not the end of essence or consciousness of a person.

There are those that argue that we are merely biological beings and they reference their personality or persona, identity, as just neurons firing in the brain. Many assume what we view to be life, basic life, such as an amoeba, as not able to have conscious awareness or personality or thinking. That everything they do is just instinct and mindless existence, even though we as humans do not have a mindless existence. Some believe that the brain is the source of mind. And yet, we see stories of individuals, that demonstrate that the brain is the vehicle by which mind is given a way to express itself through the body and can even rewire itself to allow the person to interact with the world around them. One such example is a story of a young woman who was in a severe car accident who was in a coma for 20 years and then woke up. (I cannot recall her name, but I do remember seeing it in video format, and glimpses of the story published as others were fascinated that she ever woke up, because the doctors decided she was a vegetable and would never wake.) The damage to her brain would not have ever allowed her to speak among other things, because those parts of the brain were damaged. Her brain rewired itself so she could talk and interact with her family when she woke. In fact, this woman reported that at certain times she could hear what was happening around her in the hospital room. Such anomalies have led scientists to the concept of neuroplasticity.

Truthfully, there is so much more… People can only know what they have experienced and can only understand a portion of what they know. Historically, making fear based decisions does not bring the optimum results. Existence is more than the limitations of what we can imagine. Just because we can view a small portion of the processes that occur within nature to create an event, it does not mean we can see any more than a few pixels of the picture and declare we know enough to mandate ourselves all-knowing and qualified to label all that is in the universe.

AI would create multitude of social problems and could potentially threaten the survival of the human race for a multitude of reasons, many of which we cannot see from where we are today. Hindsight is twenty twenty, but after it is a problem is too late. Asbestos is a great example. We thought it was a great idea to use as a material until it killed many, many people. Making decisions based on our fears thinking that all the world is limited to what we think we know foregoes the concept of learning with the assumption we already know all we need to know to make such decisions.
