It does annoy me how a lot of people just hate on old tech like they never used it before… Lol.
durr look at these garbage piles of human beings making calls on an old device
them: exact age of those same people
What’s the guys name?
I think the words 'Fake' and 'Real' fall flat when discussing this subject. Physicists look at the universe as information, and we are already able to construct a simulation/online environment that has rules and is internally consistent. Buzzing someone's dopamine centres vs giving them chocolate to eat is a difference of depth, complexity, and possibly resolution, but they both have (similar) consequences in the brain. It's all well and good to say you can create a virtual girlfriend to replace your original girlfriend, but who on earth has an articulated grasp of even half of the breadth of factors and complexity involved in 'girlfriend', let alone your girlfriend? The problem is not whether to call simulations 'Fake' or 'Real', but how do we accurately model reality and how do we connect ourselves to simulations? These are basically the fundamental questions to science and art respectively, so, y'know, we've been at it for a while. What we're discussing today is just the forefront of these endeavours.
Yall damn well know my ass is gonna be stuck in asoiaf VR or Wild West VR when that shit starts existing.
I want to sharnigans in VR
