the thing is, if you talk to anyone from syria that's in assad territory, you have to keep in mind that they don't have freedom of speech, they know anyone can snitch on them to get more status and then they're gone and no one dare say they remember who they are. we have this saying in Syria called "walls have ears" and it means if you dare say the truth or your opinion you will die.everything works with bribes, snitching and fake shit in the name of patriotism to score good citizen points. truely shitty cause if you're from a town that is known for uprisings or writers about freedom of speech. you're done once they check your place of birth at a checkpoint, and trust me there's a checkpoint every 100 meters, and not just the regime, but also isis, fsa, sdf, other kurds, al qaeda branches, assad supporting militia, virtually everyone is in the wrong, almost every side on the war did some shitty ass war crimes. and there's like 8 sides to choose from with different relationships to eahother and political stances. no one is truely right or wrong, good or evil, everyone is wrong and everyone is evil. revenge is a thing that moves centuries in syria and once one drop of blood has been spilled everyone will pay. the people and civillians always pay the most. the children, mothers, elderly, they all have to deal with this shit. you can't be neutral because someone will think you're hiding something, they'll just go to someone you know that is affiliated somewhere and put you with them. families get torn apart and sometimes you end up killing your own brother. may god save Syria from everything. everyone deserved better. countless people died because allot of countries gotten involved. even before the war. since hafez was president even and maybe even since the cold war. fucked up shit.
