Stop caring about peoples' happiness. Who gives a flying f&^k if the like their job. If you don't like it CHANGE YOUR STATION. Everyone can do it, if you don't think so YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. Ban automation if you like, but absolutely do not give our government our pocketbook.
Big companies always get tax breaks and it gets sold to the local populace as a worthy sacrifice to bring jobs to the community. In my state Amazon built a large warehouse and the city they built it in gave them a property tax subsidy of around $18M. And it’s justified by job creation. But as is common the jobs that come are usually not good ones. So generally never a good compromise as is sold by the company/government that always makes the choice.
Automation is the final solution to labor laws, unions, worker strikes, and employees' rights. You can tell it's a serious problem because essentially no one is talking about it….
Unskilled and skilled. Pilots aren’t necessary right now, we just don’t trust the automation 100%. Surgeons use robotics, VR, and lazers now, soon there will be no need for surgeons. When quantum computers are mainstream there will be no need for humans. Haven’t you seen terminator!
Grocery stores have moved from cashiers to automated.
