She has also worked within county, state, and federal facilities providing clinical and forensic services for juvenile and adult offenders and has provided services for police departments in New York City, Alabama, and Southern California.

I’m a Chicago Police officer and agree with a majority of what you’re suggesting. However, budgets in mismanaged cities such as mine will never allocate the proper funding for such training and mental wellness checks,etc. When you become numb to colleagues and friends on the job taking their own lives, you know something is wrong. When you see coworkers out of shape and in a disgruntled state, you wonder who they can take care of if they cant even take care if themselves. I urge you to go to a large diverse police department, such as ours, and request to do a ride along. See what we deal with on a daily basis and maybe bring some more attention to the subject as an advocate for change. I’m sure people are going to thrash me for posting, saying “you chose your job, etc.” However, we signed up to do the right thing. We signed up to protect those who can’t protect themselves. We stand that line. The more abuse that comes, sooner or later nobody will do this job. This is a real problem in our nation. Please do more shows on the subject. I’ve been an avid follower on everything you do from fighting commentary to socio-economic inequality. Please use your platform to attempt to reach more people on the matter.
