I don't know about the robot thing. I think maybe it's going to be a good thing. In this discussion they only focus on the possible negative sides. Maybe it can be a first step for someone looking for a real partner?

I understand the point he makes on the archival "grey" being our evolutionary fate, but I think it's highly more likely if a society has the technology to overcome themselves and advance to build craft to travel or transcend the universe/spacetime I would think these typical genderless "greys" would simply be a disposable biological AI to carry out tasks by the true engineer of such life. Easier to send such data mined from across the galaxy and various star systems then to have to be there yourself to carry it out.
