It's the clearest piece of proof that our current 4th estate is diseased and corrupt and MSM "journalists" aren't really journalists. Freedom of expression is the sacred foundational guiding principle of any real journalist. The frauds posing as journalists are very easy to spot right now, because they support the deplatforming and censorship and suppression of people with different political views. They're the same "journalists" campaigning against Trump declassifying government documents. Again, this is a perspective that no real journalist ever has. They pretend to support "freedom of the press" when that means heckling and harassing the POTUS in the WH press corps. While they support and defend and advocate for speech crime laws to silence people who disagree with them.
Before the internet, Nazis and white supremacists were totally deplatformed and delegitimized, relegated to their hidey holes in Idaho or where the fuck ever. Was the New York Times or Washington post, the twitter and facebook of the day giving these people op-eds? Hell no. At best they got to go on Springer or Maurey and were a laughing stock. We were fine with these rancid fucks not having a voice then, and we'll be better for it now. Fuck em.
He's right that it's a dangerously slippery slope. However, the notion of allowing anyone to have such a broad platform on the presumption that the "marketplace of ideas" will filter out the bad and elevate the good is also flawed. What really needs to be crystalized are the criteria that should lead to deplatforming.
