  1. The reason that Detroit car manufacturing left Detroit is because the union wages were so high, that they couldn’t afford the workers anymore! And not just pay rates…union controlled retirement pay, health insurance for life, all the things that cost so damn much, all paid for by the manufacturer. I read some statistics a couple of years back that said the retirement and health insurance costs for the retired workers was higher than the pay and benefits(for current working and producing income) employees. Can’t stay in business like that! So they moved production to non union states or countries.
