Waterboarding is simulated drowning, it’s a way to trick the brain into thinking that it’s starving for air when it isn’t. An ancient circuit takes over, the anti-drowning circuit evolved way before higher brain functions, those all turn off. You’d push your own mother underwater to get one more breath that whole concept is gone there is no such thing as empathy or family, their is only air.
