Jesus Christ did go into hell after dying on the cross, then rose from the dead and went to His Father in Heaven on the third day. Perhaps this sculpture symbolyses His struggle to overcome the evil and beating death itself. I don't undetstand the serpent cathedral though. Blessed be Our Lord Jesus Christ.
