  1. I'm starting this journey myself now, taking on freelance projects online and building up my own business on the side.
    It's so rewarding to be able to work when you want to and only take on interesting projects while taking 100% of the profit. I can't wait to scale it to a stage I can quit my day job and freelance full time.

  2. So life is gonna become an RPG where you pick what quests to do in order to gain experience points? Well, lemme tell ya, everyone is not gonna get those 5 different job alternatives every day. He is describing the upper echelon of the future society, the netocracy.

  3. I seem to recall that civilization originated in cultures with large water projects. Babylon, the Mayans, the Egyptians.

    And about those Egyptian pyramids, a few years ago they found papyrus records that looked amazingly like what we produce when we plan large software projects. The guy who ran building the Great Pyramid was clearly one of the greatest project managers in history. Doesn't invalidate Ravikat's main point, but his example is flawed if he thinks the industrial age created this kind of organization.

Lol except the population is going to more than double over the course of the next 60 years… Optimism that the energy input will be sufficient, people will take it upon themselves to become skilled tradesmen, and the established system of mass production will give way to a socialist equality where production rates dictate wages… fingers crossed I guess?
