  1. Am I the only one who thinks that it’s so simple? Capitalism is absolutely necessary for freedom and liberty but Socialism is something that we need for people who are weak. No matter how strong we are or believe we all should be, that is not always the case for all people. A lot of people need help, and I’m not talking about the lazy, pathetic population who can’t do anything for themselves, despite being completely capable. My question is why can’t we find something in between. Why can’t we go back to the early 1900s where the government would force monopolies to split and protect the people who elected them into office? Why can’t we just eliminate the idea that an oligarchy is even possible? Why is it so hard for us to imagine that no corporate entity can own a news organization, that the media should be privatized to illuminate bias, brainwashing, and making an agenda out of reality (fake news). Why is it impossible to say that we should have laws against social media pulling political bias shut downs in its fact checking? This is why we can’t have nice things. There is no personal accountability in people who invest in these corporations, and get rich because of it.

  2. “The greatest privilege is being alive, because 80% of humanity is dead.” I’ve seen so many clips at this point. Every video this man drops crazy wisdom and changes my life. My eyes and mind are truly opened and I want to act on these virtues.

  3. I was a freshman in high school (14yrs old) and I took a russian slavic history class. It was pretty much about the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II and the Leninist revolution leading up to Stalin's cult of personality and gulags. My first reaction (as an american) to communism was "I want to drive a BMW. Does this mean I have to starve myself to afford that car considering we all make the same salary?".

In conclusion, there are ideas that SOUND good, and there are GOOD ideas.

Communism only works if you live in a small village of specialized workers (one makes the food, the other irrigation, the third builds houses) where they all NEED to work together for the common good. A modern society needs incentives. If I lived in a truly communist society where the workers earned the means of production and spread the wealth evenly, I wouldn't work in a factory. I'd write bullshit poetry because I'd rather sit in a room and drink vodka and write down my "brooding thoughts" then work in a dangerous industrial plant.
