We need a new hybrid system. Salary cap the wealthy and minimum base wage for everyone else. Automate everything so no one really has to work very often and we can live our lives peacefully. Money is responsible for probably 95% of the worlds problems. Sort out the money situation and the rest will fall into place. I've run a template of what it could look like through AI and the results were very positive for progression, efficiency and sustainability. Socialism is not limited to paying the unemployed. 95% of people want and need to work. Real socialism is taxing the excessily rich fairly to fund free education, medical, and pensions. Like northern Europe where people dont shoot each other and don't live in fear of dying poor and alone.
People say socialism never works. But historically it has worked. However a certain red white and blue country consistently inserts themselves into socialist countries to destabilize them. And ultimately when that country fails, everyone blames socialism. And the propaganda here uses that as an example of why socialism is bad but leaves out the outer interference. The US does not want to allow socialism to exist anywhere because then people will know a better alternative exists. I’m not saying we need to move on to full on socialism. But our capitalist system needs to be heavily refined and regulated. Need to take money out of our politics. Tax the rich their fair share, adopt more socialist programs such as (green energy jobs, free education, free healthcare, etc.) and close the wealth gap. The CEO-to-average worker pay ratio has fallen horrendously over years. And it’s not like the average ceo has suddenly started working exponentially harder than the average worker so there’s no reason for their pay to continuously go up while the workers continuously go down. The myth these two speak of that rich people are all rich because of effort and the poor are poor because of effort. 60% of wealth in the US is inherited. We need to allow and empower workers to unionize and fight for fair pay.
