Everyone is so narcissistic. This isnt the most divided ever. Obama locked up reporters, during abortion discussion people were burning buildings too. This is the first time that the media has been exposed
I think we get more unnecessary and untrustworthy information from media who are seeking clicks for money. The thought leaders are less concerned with accuracy than they are the bottom line. Money over fair coverage. Ethics in journalism isn't wide spread anymore.

People may not have more divisive opinions but there are absolutely more disagreements now than any ever (in my lifetime). Before social media no one really talked about politics or religion but now people argue about both all the time. I know people who were friends their whole lives who no longer speak because social media arguments over politics or religion. Conversations that never would’ve taken place had they not been on Facebook posting about it. It doesn’t matter if we agree with 80% of someone’s political views, if the majority of your interaction with that person is arguing about the 20% you don’t agree with. people will also say things on social media that they would never say to someone’s face.
