It's crazy how uncritical joe rogan is when it comes to jiu jitsu. Yes it's great, yes you can win fights solely using jiu jitsu, but it isn't without holes in a real mma fight. Helio gracie vs Kimura proves this. Kimura compeltely Dominated gracie in every single way as a Judoka (not JIUJITSU) If you want to learn the true history of BJJ watch "Gracie vs. Kimura: A Superfight Before Superfights" that video changed my whole perception of jiu jitsus, and it's origin.
Mitsuyo Maeda the creator of BJJ was actually a Judo black belt, and was forced to change his martial art's name to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so that way he could still compete. Because he was not allowed to teach Judo to foreigners. It really should be called Brazilian Judo if not for this rule. Because the martial art came from Japan originally and the Gracies (who were really the best at self promotion) made this martial art famous, we now have a history that has been rewritten in favor of the gracies..
