Ms. Pat.. I gotta say everyone told me that God broke the mold when they made me, HOWEVER I can see that he didnt quite break it he just broke the race scheme! Kept the same mind set, foul mouth, intelligence, integrity & fab srnse of humor & made u! My 3 boys were the first to graduate highschool & go on to college in 5/6 generations(I DID go back to school got my GED as a mature student, scoring grades in the top 33% of all graduating students in that year) had my boys young, peddled dope, worked in construction & raised my boys alone without help from anyone…literally not a single person. I too apologized to my boys individually for not being the Mom I WANTED TO BE instead of being the hardass strict Mom that was struggling to give them WHAT they NEEDED & only being able to give them what they WANTED on occassion.
As a parent its normal to sacrifice ur on needs & wants for the sake of ur kids, being a young single parent without a decent education, familial & the kids paternal family support & being raised without the fundamental information required to be not just a parent but an adult as well is GOD DAMN HARD. But man let me tell u, when ur kids are grown & theyve achieved everything & beyond u were hiping theyd acheive..ITS AN EFFIN AMAZING FEELING, even if the kids are all pissy with u for the mistakes u made while raising them theyll be parents 1 day & realize just what it took for u to raise them & give them what they needed to have in order to enter adulthood with an education, without a criminal record & addictions.
Thats all u can ask for is that moment when u can finally sit back & see that all ur own personal sacrifices were worth every missed meal, wearing the same clothing & footwear until u hadnt a choice about replacing them, every tear shed at night when ur un bed & the kids are asleep was TOTALLY WORTH IT bwcause those babies grew up to be wonderful, thoughtful, kind, productful members of society.
The cycle has been broken, ur grandbabies wont know what all the previous generations hardships!
