Even if I had the money I would not take a girl to palm springs let alone a dinner on the first date. Just a coffee/snack. Any woman who puts importance on money during the first date will put importance on money during the divorce. Met a girl who wasn't like that, and guess what, surprise surprise, she didn't ask any money from her husband, a multi-millionaire, when they divorced. That's an independent woman.
That’s so true. I’m like a dog from the pound. I have been in friend with benefits situation so many time without my consent, now I’m like even if a guy told me to come over or late dinner, I block him right away.

I've dated but I never take women for dinner. I try not spend anything more than 200 ksh. That's about $2
It was better on dial-up lol. I had a Motorola flip phone would get a calling card calling girls from MSN chat at that time. Met a ballerina ex from that local chat that lived about 15 minutes away. There wasn't that ghosting / no conversation like women today.
