Identity Politics have always surreptitiously come from the Right. It really took off during the 90s, under the Clinton Administration … and he just happened to be the Democratic Candidate who first took heaps of corporate money.
The true Left has never emphasized ID Pol, because they are internationalists. They want equal treatment for ALL peoples, so it goes without saying that this group or that group should be treated in a just way.
