  1. Nevermind 80s heavyweight boxing and whether it was exciting or not, people forget that Trevor Berbick was a GREAT heavyweight boxing champion at that time. He was a brilliant boxer. Mike destroyed him so quickly and easily to become the youngest and the most quickly heavyweight champion ever. I honestly feel that Mike Tyson would honestly destroy ANY heavyweight within his prime at 20-23 years old. Casual boxing fans like to think that he couldn't survive in this era of heavyweight boxing today which is so silly. I was born in 1995 so I know I didn't see the fights live but I can guarantee that the heavyweights in the 1980/90s were SOOO much better than today's competition pool. I am such a MASSIVE boxing fan from Co. Antrim, Ireland. Watch Lightweights, welterweights, middleweights right now. They are all great boxers that are genuinely great. Other than Usyk I would say every other heavyweight in today's era is quite useless in comparison to not only 30 years ago but 20 years ago. It's just a shame that casual boxing fans will always watch the heavyweights before the lower weights when right now they are still so amazing. Look at Crawford, tank, Garcia, canelo, bivol, benn. BOXING IS NOT DEAD!!
