While not in a lot of places, it is called soccer in a couple places besides the US. Canada calls it that too due to the influence of Gridiron Football just like the US, Australia calls it that due to Australian Rules Football, New Zealand is kinda 50/50, Japan due to its English loan words deriving from American English as well as the fact that the word is similar to the original domestic word for the sport, Shukyu, and for reasons i can't explain, South Africa
Because the official name is Gridiron Football which encompasses both codes, American and Canadian. The name comes from it origins in Rugby. Football is derived from Rugby and the official name of both codes, Union and League, is Rugby Football
Did he just that" these guys bite each other in the dick in scrums!"? 😂 😂 Joe Rogan is crazy!
Not even a ball…and no one kicks it..we’ll call it football… lol
Jesus Christ how are yall so uneducated about this subject. So first of all .. look it up
There is a sport in England called football played with a round ball but with their hands like american football.
England invented the term soccer. Short for Association Football
Football is the generic name for sports not played on horse ir in water. So theres rugby football
And association football.
Usa is not the only country that calls it soccer. Australia calls it soccer
Japan calls it soccer
Canada, china etc..
United States did not come up with that name
