American football came from rugby. What theory is he talking about.
When the game was invented, it was called soccer . And then the UK changed it to football. Since America started a game called football, they could not change the name of soccer . It’s all in the history books
The full name of uk football is Association Football. Thats where 'soccer' comes from
A while ago I was watching the great movie: "This Sporting Life", is from 1963 and is set in England. At one point the main character – who's from Yorkshire – says: "You've got that in soccer, right?" I was baffled. I realized the term is originally from England.
