My Aikido teacher, Sensei Larry Reynos😊a taught very differently than traditional. I've taken various martial arts over the years mostly based on what was available in my area (had to move several times) otherwise I would have stuck with one but i feel like i learened usable skills from each one. I have been in a few fights and used techniques from each style including Aikido, so with that being said Aikido was useful in self defense… with the exception that i didn't strictly use Aikido. Personally I would recommend adding it to your arsenal if you can find a good teacher…
