there has not been a single black person who has won a Fields medal or a Nobel prize in the sciences (physics and chemistry). I think it is partly because there is a overemphasis on sports in the black community and a worship of sports athletes. Black people are just as intelligent as Asians or Jews etc. More young black kids needs black role models in the STEM field rather than in the entertainment industry (which sports is really mostly entertainment). Entertainment is great , but it is not at the level of importance to mankind that hard core scientific research is at.
Reasons For Sports Being Important For Blacks:
1.) Sports are the only meritocracy in the US.
2.) Upward economic mobility.
Black people: I'M BLACK!
white people: ok I'll identify you as such since you constantly talk about it.
Black people: RACIST!
