the West has a very difficult time understanding the Chinese long term playbook. By long term I mean decades. We like instant gratification and can't possibly imagine that somebody has a 50 yr plan to economically dominate the world. Things like Huawei are an important cog in this plan of attack. And China can, and does, buy their way into countries politically and economically. We cha ge Presidents every 4-8 yrs and each comes into office with their own ideas. Our system of government institutionally contrains our ability to have any long term economic plans.
